NAPOLEON- An early 9-0 run by the Lady Pirates set the tone for the night as Napoleon handed the Lady Golden Eagles a disappointing 37-28 non-conference defeat in the Pirate Dome.
A three point field goal by senior Abbey Hatler to open the game was the only lead the Lady Eagles managed as the Pirates finished with an 11-10 first quarter lead. The struggles continued into the second period as Columbia managed just a single point and trailed 18-11 at the half.
After nearly ten minutes without a made field goal, the Lady Eagles went on a 7-0 run to climb back into the game and trail by just three after three quarters, 23-20.
Alissa Fish, on her only basket of the night, cut the lead to two, 26-24 at the 6:00 mark. The Lady Pirates answered with a six point run to extend the lead and closed out the win from the free throw line.
Columbia Central was led by Abbey Hatler with nine points with teammate Alexa Tackett adding seven. Lady Pirate Kallie Pittman led all scorers with a game high ten point effort.
The junior varsity Lady Eagles held off Napoleon for a 33-28 win over the Little Pirates in the early game.
