AUBURN HILLS-  Keenan Gunnells continues his march for a wrestling state championship tonight after he pulled out a 1-0 victory this afternoon over Trevor Robinson of Shephard in the 130 pound weight class.

AUBURN HILLS-  Senior Keenan Gunnells opened his M.H.S.A.A. championship run with a Thursday win over Ryan Mallett of WYOK with an 11-5 decision.  Next action for Keenan will be on Friday afternoon. BROOKLYN-    In Division III, M.H.S.A.A. wrestling action tonight, Columbia Central and Michigan Center squared off for a district championship on the campus of Columbia Central. Columbia Dual Meet Invitational

The home wrestling season got underway today with nine quality teams competing in the historic, Columbia Dual Meet Invitational.  Columbia Central, Perry, Ida, Anchor Bay, Coldwater, Tecumseh, Mason, Sand Creek and New Boston Huron all spent a long day on the Columbia Central campus. Eagle Wrestlers Drop Matches

PALACE OF AUBURN HILLS-  Cooper and Keenan Gunnells each will have to navigate through the losers bracket tomorrow when each dropped their Friday evening matches. Keenan fell to Aaron Kiburn of Richmond, 10-1 while Cooper lost a heartbreaker to Trevor Robinson of Shepherd, SV-1 10-8. Both continue tomorrow on the final day of the M.H.S.A.A.

Gunnells Open With Wins

AUBURN HILLS-  The M.H.S.A.A. individual wrestling championships got underway today and brothers Cooper and Keenan Gunnells each won their opening bouts at 125 pounds. Cooper (39-3) defeated Danny Rowe of Roscommon by an 8-2 decision.  Keenan (36-10)defeated Ryan Christensen of Essexville, 8-6 Wrestling continues on Friday with second round action.
